Our Story
Born from Tradition
Casa Madre was born from a simple belief: that Mexican cuisine deserves the same reverence and precision as any culinary tradition in the world.
Tucked into a historic building in downtown Tucson, we’ve created a space where centuries-old recipes meet modern technique — where mole is a labor of love, and every dish tells a story.
Our name means "mother house." A place of warmth, nourishment, and belonging. We built this for the community, for the craft, and for the table.
Executive Chef & Founder
Chef Elena grew up in Oaxaca watching her grandmother grind dried chiles on a stone metate, coaxing complex flavors from simple ingredients. That patience became her foundation.
After training in Mexico City and stages in Paris and New York, she returned to her roots — landing in Tucson, where she found a city hungry for something honest.
